A very outdated update
Wow, it has been over a month since my last post and what a month it has been. I started October as I did the school year: as the photo and video editor for the Daily Nebraskan, the UNL student newspaper. Out of the blue, I was offered a part-time staff photographer position with the Lincoln Journal Star. I still can’t believe that I am lucky enough to be working alongside some of the greatest photographers and nicest people I know. Because of that new opportunity, I had to leave the Daily Nebraskan very suddenly. I still am sorry to my photo/video staff there, but I know they are doing great with editor-in-chief Andrew Dickinson and new photo and video editor Matt Masin.
Three days after receiving the job offer from the Journal Star I was in Jeffersonville, NY for the 25th anniversary of the Eddie Adams Workshop. Again, I am still amazed that I was able to work with my awesome team leaders Emilio Morenatti, Santiago Lyon and Natan Dvir, as well as all the other students and professionals. Go Team Turquoise!! EAW was definitely one of the most amazing, tiring, educational and ridiculously fun events I have ever been a part of. I am still trying to truly grasp everything I picked up on the farm. I can already see some variations in my shooting style as a result of what I learned at EAW.
These are some of my favorite images from the past (ridiculous, amazing, unexpected) month, and I promise to post more often.
